our vision
In 20 years, Ark Crisis Child Care Center will have transformed the Evansville community by leading an effort to proactively address the issue of child abuse & neglect. Ark Crisis will have created a community where all children and families - especially the most vulnerable - will have the support required to thrive, be safe, and become nurturing families.
our history
The Ark Crisis Child Care Center was established on December 1, 1981 with the purpose of preventing child abuse and neglect. Our mission is to "keep children safe and strengthen families in stress." We do this by providing free, short-term child care. No emergency requests are ever denied.
our mission
Sometimes, life is hard. Every day a person's life can drastically change - a teen in high school, an unemployed father of four, a single young woman and an elderly grandmother... they all have two things in common - young children and Ark Crisis. At Ark, our mission is to keep children safe and strengthen families in stress
who we are
Ark Crisis is the only emergency state-licensed child care center in Indiana, and only one of 11 in the United States. Ark is licensed to care for children ages six weeks to six years.
Classrooms are designed with children in mind. Each room has a wonderful collection of age appropriate materials such as educational toys, games, books, music and art. Classroom projects are specifically designed to enhance each child's creativity, socialization skills and self-worth. Breakfast, lunch and snack times provide opportunities to discuss nutrition.
All children receive loving interaction from early childhood professionals. Lots of cuddle time is given! All formula, baby food and diapers are provided for the little ones.
